Overall, we feel that the children now have a good awareness of the animation process for when they begin their 3D animations using plasticine. Children also chose to edit the colours within their animation, including the background and the shapes. There joints can be manipulated to create different shapes and gestures. Other children decided to use the Stykz figure, which has multiple movable joints. Many of the children used the tools within Stykz to create their own shapes, including some of the planets. The digital 2D image storage specifications implemented into these Stykz animation files make it possible for a user of the Stykz application to configure moving points in the 2D images stored in the Stykz animation file. It is important that images that children would like to appear on the screen for multiple seconds are duplicated as needs 12.5 frames to record 1 seconds worth of footage. A Stykz animation file contains digital 2D objects and elements along with animated movement configurations and settings. It also ensures that they have an awareness of the frame rate. We tell our children to avoid changing the speed of their animation initially as this is something that can be altered in the editing process. Stykz, helps children to understand the fundamentals of animation including terminology like frames and onion skinning and also allows them to practice capturing their animation using small movements.
